February 26, 2017 in Server news

Server migration is now officially done!

Both the website and TeamSpeak server moved to a new and faster host!

The new server is hosted in a place with >9000% more cables to improve throughput.
Everyone knows: more cables = more speed :)

New IP and DDOS

February 1, 2015 in Server news

Because we don’t use a lot of space, I’ve decided to move the server to a smaller drive, which costs less.
By doing that, the IP’s have changed as well.

Our provider also attempted to fix DDOS attacks on their networks:

Apparently they didn’t expect any downtime, which did happen for some 10 minutes at least.
Hopefully the packet loss and high ping issues should be resolved now however.

Server maintenance

November 27, 2013 in Server news, Site news

Today I received a message from our hosting provider:

During the night of Monday December the 2nd through Tuesday December
the 3rd we will replace the RAID controller of one of the storage nodes on
the Aurora Compute platform between 00:00 and 02:00. During this maintenance
window your instance will be paused for 15 to 30 minutes (the state of your
machine will be maintained).

This will happen because of a hardware defect in one of the storage servers.
During this time teamspeak will probably stop working as well as the website.

New server

November 4, 2013 in Server news

Hello guys,

Today I moved the server to a new system. The server is now running in the cloud  :-O

What are the advantages of cloud? Well basically, we have less chance of this website + ts going down. Furthermore, the system is more balanced than before which will result in higher speeds :-D
